Expanding International Art Logistics: UOVO Welcomes Maria Cabrejas

May 26, 2026
Maria Cabrejas joins the team at UOVO.

We are pleased to announce a significant expansion of our international art logistics and exhibition services with the appointment of Maria Cabrejas as Director of Business Development, Specialized Services.

This newly defined role reflects our continued investment in deepening specialized service offerings for museums, galleries, and institutional partners both across the United States and globally. As the international art market demands greater precision, Maria’s appointment ensures our clients have access to unmatched expertise in navigating complex, cross-border logistics.

Global Expertise in Exhibition Logistics

Managing international art transit requires a deep understanding of varied regulatory landscapes, specialized packing, and strict timelines. Maria brings an extensive background in overseeing complex, door-to-door freight frameworks and multi-venue exhibition logistics across the United States, Europe, and the Asia Pacific region.

Prior to joining UOVO, Maria held senior positions at prominent international art handling firms, including SIT Spain and IAS Australia. Her foundational experience also includes serving as Collections Manager at New York’s South Street Seaport Museum, where she successfully led collection recovery efforts following Hurricane Sandy—a testament to her technical expertise in high-stakes collections care.

“Maria’s appointment reflects our commitment to building the kind of specialized, experienced team that our institutional clients and international partners expect,” says Martha Hart, Head of International Shipping at UOVO. “Her depth of knowledge across global exhibition logistics, combined with her background in the museum world, makes her exceptionally well positioned to strengthen and expand what UOVO can deliver.”

Strengthening Partnerships Across the Art Ecosystem

In her new role, Maria will focus on cultivating long-term partnerships with ICEFAT members and international art logistics agents. For museums and galleries seeking a dedicated provider for end-to-end international exhibition services, this means a more streamlined, secure pipeline for global transit.

Her leadership will enhance UOVO’s existing suite of institutional and specialized art services, including:

  • Customs & Compliance: Customs procedures, airport supervision, and secure tarmac transportation.
  • Global Transit: Coordinated airfreight and ocean shipping tailored to sensitive mediums.
  • On-Site Technical Services: Custom crating, contract registrar services, courier oversight, and professional installation.
  • Stewardship: Access to our national network of museum-grade storage facilities.

By bridging the gap between museum registration standards and global freight forwarding, UOVO continues to provide a secure, unbroken chain of custody for the world’s most significant collections.
